Aspects on which clients rate your overall restaurant experience

Nowadays more and more restaurant guests want a full service restaurant experience, when they  go out for dinner. Besides that the quality and presentation of the dishes are most important, there are other aspects e.g. the wine, the service and the overall ambience, that certainly count, and sometimes even decide whether or not to recommend your restaurant.

Here are some aspects on which clients rate your overall restaurant experience:

Restaurant guests appreciate the fact that there is an 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻, because the chefs are part of their restaurant experience.  An open kitchen gives added value to the restaurant, because the guests like to see how their dishes are prepared, while at the same time witnessing the hygiene in the kitchen.

The 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of the staff  (host, waiters, sommelier,, chefs and owners) is a very important aspect of the restaurant experience. The desired profile of the staff, that most guests have in mind are: a  staff who is attentive (keep eye contact), neat, fast and know what he or she is selling or bringing to the table. Besides that they are visibly enjoys his work. If we also add personal attention to this, we have the ideal restaurant employee. A pleasant experiences with employees are one of the main reasons for customers returning to the restaurant.

Another very important aspect of restaurant management is a cleanliness of the restaurant.  Guests seem to find it more important how clean a restaurant is than the quality of the service. A clean toilet with toilet paper, soap, personal hygiene products, hand sanitizers and rolled towels is very much appreciated. The toilet is a small part of the business, but it is no less important. The guests will think: if the toilet is clean, the kitchen will be too.

Guests like to share what they eat on social media channels, which makes 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 (e.g.  spoons and forks, knives, and a variety of dishes and accessories) more important than ever before. Many restaurants are taking this more and more seriously as part of their restaurant management and experience.

And last but not least,  𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆, is one of the most repeated words by guests in their rating of restaurants.

KHN and the CRA enter into a partnership

This week Koninklijke Horeca Nederland (KHN) and Curaçao Restaurant Association (CRA) entered into a partnership, whereby Curaçao will become a new KHN department. This means that catering entrepreneurs in Curaçao will soon be able to benefit from the services of the KHN membership. On July 28, Robèr Willemsen and Dirk Beljaarts of KHN and Tarzeno Circkens and John Henry Every of the CRA will sign their signatures during a meeting on Curaçao in the presence of the Acting Governor of Curaçao, Her Excellency Michelle Capriles.

The collaboration has been formalized in the new KHN department Curaçao, with the aim of working together towards a future-proof catering industry. In Curaçao, tourism as an economic pillar is becoming increasingly important. This places new demands on the hospitality industry. Membership of KHN can provide support for further professionalization. Members in Curaçao have the same rights and obligations as other KHN members. All catering entrepreneurs on the island can become a member of this new department.

What does this mean for catering entrepreneurs?
The affiliation with KHN offers catering entrepreneurs in Curaçao an entrance to the services of KHN, including answers to catering-related questions or personal advice, advocacy and long-term discounts with various catering partners and information about the latest developments and regulations in the catering industry. Of course, Dutch catering entrepreneurs also benefit from this collaboration. Many Dutch catering entrepreneurs are already active in Curaçao, and many entrepreneurs are interested in taking the step. With KHN as the binding force, both here and on Curaçao, KHN can also play a role for catering entrepreneurs established in the Netherlands who want to do business in Curaçao. The system is the same and entrepreneurs can quickly switch with the local government.

KHN chairman Robèr Willemsen: “We are very proud to confirm this collaboration. The CRA and KHN share the drive to create the ideal entrepreneurial climate for our members, in which quality and innovation are paramount. Through this collaboration, members in Curaçao have access to the same benefits of KHN membership. Moreover, entrepreneurs from both countries benefit from the extensive network of entrepreneurs for advice, collaborations, exchanges and internship opportunities.”
CRA chairman Tarzeno Circkens: “Tourism is of great importance to Curaçao. With this collaboration we not only strengthen our position on the island, but we also join forces with people with years of experience, who know the current hospitality landscape and the laws and regulations well. This allows us to work together on a future-proof catering industry on the island.”
